Traveling in the car on vacation has a lot of stopping points. Learn these 5 Hacks to Eating Organic On Vacation

Pack and Ride

Eating Organic while traveling in the car on vacation may sound hard, but not if you pre-plan your stopping points. Every stop gives you that temptation to grab an unhealthy snack at every gas station, convenience store, and fast food restaurant while you’re traveling.

Resist those hunger pains by packing great organic snacks for the road. Organic fruits, snack bars, nuts, and berries are among the most popular.

Here’s one of our favorite recipes for eating healthy organic snacks:

Plan Your Route for Fresh Organic Food Stops

With all the mobile technology that’s available these days, it’s easier than ever to plan your road trip stops around great organic restaurants, farmers’ markets, and grocery stores like Wholefoods and Sprouts.

My son was relocating from Atlanta to Arizona one year to open a new Wholefoods location and also to attend college at ASU. He planned his entire trip around the Wholefood markets on his route. Not only did he get a discount, but everything from organic snacks, hot meals, drinks, and others were all at his fingertips in one well-planned location.

The Verge has a great article on “how to use tech tools to plan your vacation”.

You should check it out.

Don't Book Until You Look

Hold on there Amigo!

Don’t book your hotel until you check out their restaurant menu. Many hotels offer organic or farm-to-table menus these days. If you can’t find a hotel that offers this in the vacation spot of your choice, find the local eateries at your favorite vacation spot that offer organic food options and book your hotel closest to those restaurants.

Another option is to find accommodations that offer rooms with a small kitchen or stay in a condo instead of a hotel. That way you can save money on eating out and prepare your own fantastic organic meals right in your room.

Once again, use those tech tools we talked about above.

Eating Organic Whole Dry Food Packs

A great food hack for vacation is packing all your organic whole foods ahead of time in small snack bags and also bringing along your favorite organic pasta, coffee, teas, and other items you will need to prepare those fabulous meals you are going to prepare in the condo.

Dry whole food snack packs are also easy to carry in your purse or beach bag while your trek around town on your well-planned places to check out.

Research the "Dirty Dozen" List

If you would rather not bother with packing and lugging those heavy coolers around, my advice is to locate the local organic farms or Wholefoods markets in the area to source the fruits and vegetables you need in your favorite vacation spot.

Here’s one thing to remember.

There are still “Organic Labeled Foods” that are listed on EWG’s 2020’s Dirty Dozen food list. Check this list before you go to market and make sure you’re getting the best quality organic food you can find.
